Gary N. Posted August 29, 2014 #1 Posted August 29, 2014 The new knee still feels foreign to me. Still very stiff and sore. The PT folks say I'm doing well but I'm a little concerned that the recovery is taking too long. Anyway, yesterday I went for my first bike ride in 10 weeks. I didn't go far but it was sure nice to get back on it. A wise old man (I won't mention any names) told me I should ride for twenty minutes then get off and stretch so that's what I did and it worked out fine. Think I just might try that again today. Nothing like cycle therapy to make things better.
XV1100SE Posted August 29, 2014 #2 Posted August 29, 2014 Glad your rehab is going well ! Keep riding...but be careful
cowpuc Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Posted August 29, 2014 OUTSTANDING GARY!! Indeed, NOTHING like bike ride therapy! Thoughts and prayers as you continue getting that new knee to see life your way! Puc
Eck Posted August 29, 2014 #6 Posted August 29, 2014 Glad to hear your back in the saddle Gary. Recovery doesn't happen too quickly on the knees.. It took my wife over a year to get what she said even feels comfortable. Even now and then she still has some pain once in a while.. Not passing on bad vibes here just letting you know. It could ,(and I hope is), be different in your case.
Nemo Posted August 29, 2014 #7 Posted August 29, 2014 To really exercise that knee, it needs some action. The best thing I found was riding my bicycle. Hurts bad at first, but gradually limbers up. Then, keep at it. Good Luck to you!
