BigD Posted August 29, 2014 #1 Posted August 29, 2014 I'am planning a 10 day road trip in in a few weeks and I wanted to get my carbs adjusted. It has been a few years since I had the carbs tuned at a maintenance day event. I went to a local Yamaha dealer and they said they wanted 225.00 to do the job. Could this be right? I was wondering if there was someone in the Novi, Commerce, general area with a carbtune that could maybe help me out. Thanks Guys
XV1100SE Posted August 29, 2014 #2 Posted August 29, 2014 If you were in my area I'd offer to do it for you. Only takes a few minutes. Owners manual recommends doing it when you change your oil...or at least checking them. The CarbTune (if you were to buy one) would be $100.
steamer Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Posted August 29, 2014 Wrong direction, if you were heading east through NY I could do it for you.
tz89 Posted August 29, 2014 #6 Posted August 29, 2014 It's easy. Here's my old post; I'm working on the next version. Maybe it will be a kit or product soon! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73158
Eck Posted August 29, 2014 #7 Posted August 29, 2014 Bad Lands and then up to Pikes Peak. When you get to Pikes Peak it will act as if the carbs are out of adjustment due ot lack of air....You will have little power at the top of the peak.. on way up and on way down you will notice the difference..no need to worry though..
