homerboy Posted August 29, 2014 #1 Posted August 29, 2014 any known replacements or can it be rebuilt
Flyinfool Posted August 29, 2014 #2 Posted August 29, 2014 You can still get the stock replacement or put in an aftermarket higher output version. From what I have been reading, I do not think the HO versions live as long but can put out more power.
bongobobny Posted August 29, 2014 #3 Posted August 29, 2014 Jeff is correct! The problem with higher output stators is with more power, more heat is generated. Heat is the enemy of insulation on the wires which is the main source of failure, the windings either shorting out to each other or to ground...
Wizard765 Posted August 29, 2014 #4 Posted August 29, 2014 Rick's Motorsport makes a good stator and they have High Output as well as OEM style.. http://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com You can get the gasket there as well
lsutley Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Posted August 29, 2014 I have two used OEM stators that are in good condition if that might interest you.
ronjolly Posted July 14, 2016 #6 Posted July 14, 2016 I have a 06 RSTD, have put a HO Stator but has gone now, (2yrs) looking for a standard if possible.
gaj1917 Posted July 14, 2016 #7 Posted July 14, 2016 There is a new OEM for sale on eBay for $163 plus shipping. Not mine, by the way! http://www.ebay.com/itm/222106303106?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

ChurchBuilder Posted July 15, 2016 #10 Posted July 15, 2016 I always cut the connector out and solder the wires together. My connectors all showed signs of heat and melting when the stator was bad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
