You can still get the stock replacement or put in an aftermarket higher output version. From what I have been reading, I do not think the HO versions live as long but can put out more power.

Jeff is correct! The problem with higher output stators is with more power, more heat is generated. Heat is the enemy of insulation on the wires which is the main source of failure, the windings either shorting out to each other or to ground...

Rick's Motorsport makes a good stator and they have High Output as well as OEM style..

I have two used OEM stators that are in good condition if that might interest you.

I have a 06 RSTD, have put a HO Stator but has gone now, (2yrs) looking for a standard if possible.

Oops. My bad.

I always cut the connector out and solder the wires together. My connectors all showed signs of heat and melting when the stator was bad.

Any electric shop should be able to rebuild it.
