keithert Posted August 28, 2014 #1 Posted August 28, 2014 Was the trunk on the 86-93 Venture removable with the key like the 83-85 were?
Yammer Dan Posted August 28, 2014 #3 Posted August 28, 2014 No. One of the best ideas and they did away with it.
bongobobny Posted August 28, 2014 #4 Posted August 28, 2014 Cheaper better faster (choose anything not beginning with B)...
Marcarl Posted August 28, 2014 #5 Posted August 28, 2014 That's why the 85 was one of a kind,,,,, the most preferred.
keithert Posted August 29, 2014 Author #6 Posted August 29, 2014 Didn't 85 still have the second gear issue?

GaryZ Posted September 5, 2014 #8 Posted September 5, 2014 My '85 also has two helmet locks that come in handy Sure miss them on my '92!
Prairiehammer Posted September 5, 2014 #9 Posted September 5, 2014 My '85 also has two helmet locks that come in handy Sure miss them on my '92! What happened to the helmet locks on your '92?
Condor Posted September 5, 2014 #10 Posted September 5, 2014 What happened to the helmet locks on your '92?
GaryZ Posted September 5, 2014 #11 Posted September 5, 2014 What happened to the helmet locks on your '92? They are not under the trunk, like the '85, and I haven't seen any helmet locks anywhere else. Are there locks and I haven't seen them???
Prairiehammer Posted September 5, 2014 #12 Posted September 5, 2014 They are not under the trunk, like the '85, and I haven't seen any helmet locks anywhere else. Are there locks and I haven't seen them??? There were originally two helmet locks attached to the rear of the trunk carrier, just like the '85. However, I have seen some of the '91s with helmet locks attached to the forward part of the saddlebag guards. If you can't find them, then someone removed them.
GaryZ Posted September 6, 2014 #13 Posted September 6, 2014 It looks like you may be right. . . There are brackets on the saddlebag crash bars where the helmet locks probably were mounted. Anybody have helmet locks and keys???
Prairiehammer Posted September 6, 2014 #14 Posted September 6, 2014 Here is a pic of Nacho's 1991 with the helmet locks on the saddlebag guard. However, MY 1991 has them under the trunk.
86er Posted September 8, 2014 #15 Posted September 8, 2014 No. One of the best ideas and they did away with it. But Dan, at least the still kept the cassette deck!
