Monty Posted August 27, 2014 #1 Posted August 27, 2014 We got home early yesterday afternoon. Left the rally on Sunday morning, and headed south on 219. Beautiful scenery along this road, all through New York, Pennsylvania & West Virginia. We took alot of very back roads starting in West Virginia...a little too "back road" for hauling a camper. The extreme mountain roads(that were in terrible need of repair) were awful challenging pulling the camper. Beautiful country though, and the fall colors are starting to come in. Saw lots of reds, yellows & oranges. We decided to get on the interstate right before Charleston, WV, and rode that way up until Lexington, KY. Did some more exploring between there & home. Had a great trip, but glad to be home. Now, it's time to mow the grass...lol. Major things we took in... Niagara Falls Steam train ride in Arcade, NY Punxatawney Phil Flight 93 Memorial & crash site Abraham Lincoln's birthplace & childhood home Maker's Mark Distillery :thumbsup:
Monty Posted August 27, 2014 Author #2 Posted August 27, 2014 Almost forgot about Lake Erie & the beautiful wine country in upper Pennsylvaina & New York. They have fields of grape vines as big as our cornfields. Never seen so many grapes in my life.
cecdoo Posted August 27, 2014 #3 Posted August 27, 2014 It was great seeing you and Angel again, the flight 93 memorial is beautiful and very moving. Craig
sleepy2 Posted August 27, 2014 #4 Posted August 27, 2014 Glad you made it home safely and had no problems. Sounds like you had a great time exploring. It was nice having time to talk with you and Angel at the rally. Hope to see you again.
