midnightrider1300 Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Posted August 26, 2014 is there a way to hook up a CB mic without using the headsets? or will any 5 pin cb mic work?
etcswjoe Posted August 26, 2014 #2 Posted August 26, 2014 Yes, It's fairly easy just wire a mic up with a 5 pin din you will have to run a set of wires to the push to talk circuit so you can use the mic PTT. Here is a thread that covers it http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=59362
eusa1 Posted August 26, 2014 #3 Posted August 26, 2014 I purchased a helmetless head set from wing stuff and leave the headset part around my neck and use the boom mic with the trigger switch and the bike speakers to listen. don't care for anything over my ears

eusa1 Posted August 26, 2014 #5 Posted August 26, 2014 guess your missing the point. my method lets you have a microphone at your chin and you don't have to pick up anything to key the microphone, just pull the trigger switch on the left handlebar and talk on the cb while listening to the dash speakers. the set cost about 80 bucks and allows you to have ear speakers if you care to use them.

I like that idea better since you do not have to let go of the handlebars to talk, I think these are the ones he is talking about. http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=IMC-HS-G140P
