Ghostly Soundtrack while on THIS forum

Out of nowhere at random times while on this forum I get a sound of like a Ghostly soundtrack. whooo whoooo whoooo and then sounds like laughter maybe and it plays over and over and over until I click off the tab. So I run a gammit of anti Virus and Spybot and all that and there it is again. What is it! I am like pretty sick of it. I use other forums and tabs it only does it here. Using Chrome so the tab at the top shows the little speaker where the sound is coming from what tab. Is it like a persistent ad or what? Can't see anything just hear it. Very annoying!

I have no clue what the heck ya got going on Mike but gotta say,,, the way your describing what your hearing it sounds like a recording of a VR Rally while camping in a tent near a bunch of pranksters from out west,,, or down south,, or up north,, or out east:rotf:

A few years ago there was fairly common virus/malware going around, sometimes called "Ghost Audio Virus".

Some maintained it was related to 'iexplore.exe'.

Try Googling 'Ghost Audio' and 'iexplore.exe'.

I get it also and only on this site.I was also getting pop up ads top and bottom of page.i installed adsblocker and all ads stopped and I haven't heard the ghost since then.

Probably just a couple of 1st Gens trying to get you to come to your senses and get a 1st Gen. They are not just faster, they can subconsciously talk to you...just sayin'..

Ghost in the machine. You must take a 5 lb sledge hammer and tap your keyboard 6 times. Not a 3lb hammer or a 10 lb hammer. It has to be a 5 lb hammer. tap the keyboard once on the enter key, once on the left shift key and 4 times on the space bar key. It is the only way to make this go away!!! Once you do this the sound will disappear!!

There are no sounds embedded in this site. If you are hearing something, then it is some type of trojan, virus or something.
