ALS Ice bucket challenge...........

I have an idea that this group as good as they are about raising funds for St. Jude, that we could also help out The ALS Foundation. If you dont know what ALS is, it is the disease that struck down Lou Gehrig, it is aslo know as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Here is what I propose. We set up a pledge page here that everyone wants to participate in can pledge any amount they want, If you want to pledge $1.00 or $5.00 for every member that takes the challenge and post a video of it here for all to see. It will be fun and beneficial at the same time. Now you cant just pledge to the cause you also have to take the challenge yourself. If anyone is interested please post to this thread. We will set a time limit for the pledge's, when it is closed the pouring can begin.

I took the challenge today but unfortunately can't seem to get the video to load on here despite downsizing it to 27 seconds. We have a close family member diagnosed with ALS four months ago and I can tell you, it's one nasty disease with no known cure and which results in a very short lifespan once diagnosed. I'll start with some of the local Canucks to take the ice dump so here's to SilvrT, Dale124, Sailor, Friesman, Camos and Kevin-Vic-BC to take up the challenge and to contribute any $$ amount towards the local ALS society in your area. Doug (I'll try and get my video up as soon as possible)

Sooooooo sorry to hear of your family member recently diagnosed and want you to know, your family has our thoughts and prayers my friend!!

Now, about that video.. You could always post it up on Youtube and link it here.. I really really wish you would!! I would personally LOVE to see the look on your face when that ice water hits !! Good cause or not, when ice cold water hits even a young person's body like yours,, the expressions are priceless:stirthepot:!!

Thanks Dad! Double negative in your comments - young person and body, neither of which seems to apply to me!! Anyways, apparently my video is in the wrong format (MVI) and not eligible for downloading here. Maybe I can pm it to you just so there's no doubts about the expression. I'm not a big fan of having my mug on Youtube so won't post it there. Doug
