in need of a motor

So I opened up my engine only to find that the previous owner filled the radiator with water. The radiator abs engine should be fine except gaskets and all other steel surfaces are badly coroded.

Coolant pipes, head gasket, rust in the entire engine and 2 cams.

I am stuck and in need of a replacement engine.

These pictures should serve to show you to never ever decide water is fine as avreplacement for coolant

I even saw rust specs on the fly wheel. The heads are not bad

Yuck. You should be able to find one on eBay if not from someone on here.

Ebay and Pin-wall salvage are good resources. These motors are the same from 99 to current. Get good compression readings and run it.

So my question. Can. I trust a pinwall engine to have good compression? Should I just do valves install and run?

Pinwall will test compression if you ask for it. They may offer a video of the bike running prior to disassembly.

The video of it running IS on the ebay ad. I see no damage to the bike. My question is, Why is this bike being parted out? Do ya'll see damage I don't? Just curious.

Pinwall has historically been an honest boneyard for various motorcycle brands. The link is from AZ-Cycle-Parts who I am not familiar with.

 

Have purchased an engine from Pinwall and was pleased with the transaction. Would not hesitate to use them again.

 

However, for the money, the AZ Cycle Parts engine is almost worth buying for future installation once my engine hits 300,000 miles or so.

Don't buy this motor. it say a couple of fin tabs broken, WRONG! the dog bone motor mounts are what is broken. Which means this motor took a hard hit.
