Krazykarl Posted August 16, 2014 #1 Posted August 16, 2014 Got rear end last weekend traveling through Arkansas sent me into a parked car. Bike did a great job and protected me. Walked away with a broken hand and sprained shoulder! God is good!!! Now begins the long road of repair for the old boy.... Gotta go from this back to this
sarges46 Posted August 16, 2014 #2 Posted August 16, 2014 Wow! Glad you are ok. That is some sweet bike! Both times I have been rear ended that's what I hurt. Wrists mostly, I could never figure out the science behind that!
videoarizona Posted August 16, 2014 #3 Posted August 16, 2014 Yikes! Glad you are ok!! Hope you can take lots of pics during restoration...after you get your hand healed!!
cowpuc Posted August 16, 2014 #4 Posted August 16, 2014 Oh my goodness Karl!! THAT is disgusting my friend! NOT to slight your injuries but I am so glad you came out of it as well as you did! By looking at those pictures it appears that your good ol MK2 did do a GREAT job of protecting you. Hope your healing goes well and you recover fully from your injuries! I feel your pain brother! Also wish you NOTHING but the best if you decide to go forward with repairing your bike! Puc
uncledj Posted August 16, 2014 #6 Posted August 16, 2014 Chiche' but true....the bike, sharp as it is, can be repaired or replaced. Glad you came through it as well as you did. Not sure how the driver that hit ya couldn't see ya. That's about as visible a bike as you could get. Get well soon.

Monty Posted August 16, 2014 #8 Posted August 16, 2014 I know insurance companies used to charge higher rates for red vehicles. The excuse was something like the red does something to people kind of like it does a bull...sets something off in their brain. I don't know. That's just what I always heard.
Bert2006 Posted August 16, 2014 #9 Posted August 16, 2014 Glad you are ok, must have been a hard hit. What excuse did the other driver have.
MikeWa Posted August 16, 2014 #10 Posted August 16, 2014 Karl That's just crazy. Glad you came through it as well as you did. Mike
mm482 Posted August 17, 2014 #11 Posted August 17, 2014 Thankful you are here with us to ride again another day!!! Earl
midnightrider1300 Posted August 17, 2014 #13 Posted August 17, 2014 glad you are ok Bikes can be replaced, you can not.... best of luck & God Speed in your healing...
IronMike Posted August 17, 2014 #14 Posted August 17, 2014 If you look up the statistics on the color RED and insurance. It explains a lot. I knew several people who bought red cars and got rear ended. They are more likely to get a ticket too. Crashing Sucks!
bmiller Posted August 17, 2014 #15 Posted August 17, 2014 Great to hear you walked away with as few injuries as you did!! Wow!! Big job ahead with the scooter!!
Wade 2000 Posted August 18, 2014 #16 Posted August 18, 2014 Glad you're ok! By the looks of the bike you were very fortunate. I hope you can get it back into shape, that was a sweet First Gen
