StarFan Posted August 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2014 Some months ago I posted a thread about a nice Chrome horn option for our bikes from Sickspeed. The bad was that they were out of the Chromed ones and many of the members seemed interested in these chromed horns. So I decided to let you all know that are available now in Chrome: EBAY Item no: 111389849921 To get the full blast out of them then you have to wire them through a relay, at least if you hook two up on your bike ! http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Sickspeedhorns_zps20b2530b.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Horn/2Horn_zpseb5363c2.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Horn/1Horn_zps6535672a.jpg
djh3 Posted August 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 16, 2014 Definitely better than the beep beep horn.
Dale124 Posted August 16, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2014 That looks cool. So does the chromed underside of your passenger footrest. I didn't even know that was an available option. Dale.
Holly Posted August 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2014 do they just bolt on?
StarFan Posted August 16, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted August 16, 2014 Definitely better than the beep beep horn. Yes they are and quite loud. But make no mistake - they do not outscream airhorns. That looks cool. So does the chromed underside of your passenger footrest. I didn't even know that was an available option. Dale. Chrome is nice This has been an option as long as I have had a Royal Star (from 2008) but they are pricey. Cost around $200 for the pair. Got mine "old Stock" $for 130 on eBay. do they just bolt on? Yes they kind of do. They come with some steel strips with bolt holes - only minor modification needed to these strips and a little imagination where to put the horns. Opted to put one where the original horn was on the right side and fastened the one on the left side to the passenger footrest if I remember right. scotta68 Posted March 16, 2015 Share #8 Posted March 16, 2015 Can I be an electrical dummy for a minute... I need to replace my horns and bought a set of replacements. How did you connect these with the relay in the stock mounting spots ? I know it's a simple process, but when it comes to electrical, some things are beyond my comfort level
oconeedan Posted March 16, 2015 Share #9 Posted March 16, 2015 Those are great looking horns, better looking than the Stebel that I have. My Stebel horn came with a diagram for the relay. It's a common relay and easy to do. There are 4 contacts, or tabs. One from the battery positive post. One to the horn. One to a ground. And the last one from the wire from the original horn, to actuate it. For the horn, the positive comes from the relay, the other comes from the original ground. Maybe someone here can draw it out. It is a 5 dollar part that is worth the time. I put mine under the right side cover. Here's my horn: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j117/OconeeDan/DSCN9219.jpg

I used the Carbon One plug in harness and they are great. Simple Plug and Play, well made and fit nicely. Only way to go in my opinion !
