Big Auggie Posted August 15, 2014 #1 Posted August 15, 2014 While my rear wheel is in the shop getting a new tire is there any recommended maintenance I should do back there while things are apart?
videoarizona Posted August 16, 2014 #2 Posted August 16, 2014 Yes. You should check the wear on the rear brake pads. If one side is more worn than other, reverse them. Also, check the drive shaft for grease, check the rear drive for grease, etc.. All this is documented on the site..... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69 is one link.... have fun! david
camos Posted August 16, 2014 #3 Posted August 16, 2014 Not that it can't be done with the wheel installed but it's a bit easier to grease the suspension linkage. Not sure what year they showed up but my "90 VR has grease nipples and apparently some earlier models did not have them.
frankd Posted August 16, 2014 #4 Posted August 16, 2014 No, the 89 doesn't have them unless they were installed by a previous owner.
