Venturous Posted August 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2014 Now that I am going to tow a heavier trailer, I would like my brakes to be their best. Test rides with it so far I believe the RSV brakes should be OK to handle this tent trailer. I have been told that I should upgrade to SS lines. But when I hold my OEM lines and apply brakes, I really do not feel any flexing. So for those who have done this upgrade.... was their really any noticeable improvement? Snaggletooth Posted August 12, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 12, 2014 They do. The older the OEM brake lines the more you will feel it. The RSV has a better brake system than the older MKI bikes like I own but the feel of the change to SS was huge and immediately felt in the actions when brake pressure was applied. When I installed the SS lines I did the front first. After bleeding the front system I thought the brakes had frozen up. It was that solid. It's a different feel but one I never thought twice about doing again on future bikes.
friesman Posted August 12, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 12, 2014 When Rocket put them on my 85 the difference was huge... Brian
