Do SS brake lines make noticeable difference?

Recommended Posts

Now that I am going to tow a heavier trailer, I would like my brakes to be their best. Test rides with it so far I believe the RSV brakes should be OK to handle this tent trailer.

I have been told that I should upgrade to SS lines. But when I hold my OEM lines and apply brakes, I really do not feel any flexing.

So for those who have done this upgrade.... was their really any noticeable improvement?

Thanks

They do. The older the OEM brake lines the more you will feel it. The RSV has a better brake system than the older MKI bikes like I own but the feel of the change to SS was huge and immediately felt in the actions when brake pressure was applied.

When I installed the SS lines I did the front first. After bleeding the front system I thought the brakes had frozen up. It was that solid.

It's a different feel but one I never thought twice about doing again on future bikes.
