DragonRider Posted August 12, 2014 #1 Posted August 12, 2014 Looks like another careless driver violated his right of way.........this is happening way to often. I checked the members list as the bike is a Gen 2 MK II, but he isnt listed as a member. Prayers for his recovery. http://www.kptv.com/story/26249611/patriot-guard-rider-seriously-hurt-in-crash-on-highway-51?fb_action_ids=10203516774457369&fb_action_types=og.recommends&fb_ref=.U-j_BzLvPVU.like&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=[760873053969392]&action_type_map=[%22og.recommends%22]&action_ref_map=[%22.U-j_BzLvPVU.like%22]

Bert2006 Posted August 12, 2014 #4 Posted August 12, 2014 Prayers up for all involved!! I agree with you Lewis,, way way way to often.. What is infuriating is that the pick-up driver gets away with only a ticket....
CMCOFFEY Posted August 12, 2014 #5 Posted August 12, 2014 What is infuriating is that the pick-up driver gets away with only a ticket.... I do not see why that is infuriating; if two cars get in a wreck, we do not always cry out to fry the driver at fault unless they were doing something criminal. We choose to ride motorcycles. we know that if we get in a wreck the would be minor for a car, it can be catastrophic for us. Why should the car driver get in more trouble because he failed to see a much smaller and harder to see target. It is sad and my prayers go out to all the parties involved, but the driver of the truck made a mistake, and had he hit a Honda Accord, there would be no issue.
Venturous Posted August 12, 2014 #6 Posted August 12, 2014 Prayers for a full and speedy recovery. I agree 100% cmcoffey, unless their was a clear deliberate act, I never could understand the cry for harsh justice when it involves a motorcycle rather than a car. We put ourselves out there. Apparently the guy in truck made a mistake. I suspect he will pay for this plenty in civil court. But unless he woke up hell bent on running down a motorcyclist... it doesn't make him a hardened criminal. Years ago my wife pulled out in front of a SUV with her mini-van. She took the worse of that accident. But it could have just as easily been a motorcycle that she pulled in front of. She made a mistake... not a deliberate act of aggression.
Sylvester Posted August 12, 2014 #7 Posted August 12, 2014 What is infuriating is that the pick-up driver gets away with only a ticket.... The civil suit will hopefully help the injured way beyond the ticket.
