Don't think idle setting is your issue but there is an idle screw on the right side about 3/4 of the way back under the gas tank it is a knob with a screw head. I am curious when was the last time you synched the carbs?

bike was bought new 1/27/14 ..... I ran the vin # at work to see what or if any warranty work had been done to it.... carbs cleaned in January when it was bought...I'm 2nd owner..it's a 2010..Oh I do work at a dealership...

I did find the screw and idle .. and adjusted the idle...

Did adjusting the idle take care of your backfire?

so far since I idled it to where it suppose to be... it's NOT popping(backfiring) like it was when idle was to low...I"ve rode in town, on the road speeding up and slowing down trying to get it to backfire....it wont.... time will tell ..:confused24:

Honestly I did not think it would be that simple, but I am glad it was.

A lot or bikes idle around 6-700 ours is close to 9-1000 and people that don't know that turn them down and start having problems. When really warmed up they will idle lower but you will get backfires and rough idle.
