bmiller Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Posted August 10, 2014 I arrived home yesterday returning from the International Rally in Guntersville, Alabama. This was my first rally, it will not be my last. I rode down (3,883 km or 2,427 miles) expecting to gain some knowledge on my bike, enjoy some scenery, group rides and sample the local cuisine. I did all of that plus....... I met some incredible people who made me feel welcome and a part of the Venture Riders family. I left Guntersville with new friends and acquaintances'. I would like to pass on my thanks to all at the rally and apologize to those I have not specifically mentioned here as each and every person there contributed to my overall experience. First off my thanks go to Mike, Karen and Donna for putting on a GREAT rally!! I tip my hat to you as I can not even imagine the amount of effort required to pull something like this off. To the Woodward's & Garry & Vicki - thank you for allowing me to join you for breakfasts. I enjoyed our discussions and appreciate the insights on Venture Riders site name & windshields. Scott, Robert, Larry, David - guys the ice cream was great thanks for inviting me along. Just so you know, I felt your company surpassed the ice cream!! Scott - watch for me in South Carolina, I intend to take you up on your offer to stay with you Robert - The fix for the trunk got me home and I have ordered the Diamond Cut fins TY kindly!! Dave - I was always told to watch out for the quiet ones as I would learn the most from them, it was a pleasure meeting you Larry AKA Sp!ke - sir, I thank you for all the time you spent showing me around the com system on the bike. I REALLY appreciate the fact you did not make fun of the fact I did not know the cowling fins rotated like they do. Barry - NICE ride!! Sunn - TY kindly for the light bar, it will be a great addition to my bike and you did great riding around like a pro!! Chuck - TY for your encouragement on the first group ride. More importantly TY for showing me some great additions to the scooter. I have PM'd you for the Saddlebag lights and light bar extension. I hope all went well with your wife's test (My apologies as I do not remember her name) Jim - you gave me the spec's on your running lights and be danged if I can find them. Please send me a PM with the info. I really appreciate your insights on the bike. Ben - fellow Canadian - if your plans to come out this way have not changed make sure you plan to stay with us! I will be mailing the flash drive with Pam's pictures tomorrow. I will call next time I am in the area visiting my sister. Maybe we can get together for coffee!! A Special TY to Tom & Pam. Thanks for allowing me to tag along on your day trips after the rally & TY for letting me invade your kitchen and prepare a Canadian style BBQ. Restaurant food is ok for a while............. home cooking beats it hands down, Pam, your pictures are outstanding TY, TY, TY I have carried this on for long enough, again TY to all who attended the rally, I look forward to the next time we can meet. Bernie
