My rider talk button doesn't work/transmit on my CB. I receive fine, just can't respond, not even a ping or "TX". I did a ohm test and it seems to remain open when I close the button/lever. I'll check again in a few. Where can I go for this part? It's sodered, but no prob. I can just heat and remove. Any suggestions other than replacing? In other words "HELP, PLEEEAAASE!"

Pinwall on e-bay may have the whole assembly. Where did you check continuity?
captdrac Posted August 7, 2014 Author #3 Posted August 7, 2014 well, while checking a 2nd time for continunity, I saw 2 screws holding the talk button and took them out. To my surprise the contacts weren't sealed and green stuff (corrosion) was on the contacts. I cleaned w/ fine sanding paper and va la, a clean contact and a working talk button. Lesson I learned, "Just when you wanna give up, dig a little deeper.":cool10:
captdrac Posted August 7, 2014 Author #4 Posted August 7, 2014 I checked the rear of the button on the switch itself. I never thought or looked to see if it was sealed the first time I checked. Thanks for the info. I know I'll need it for future use.
M61A1MECH Posted August 7, 2014 #6 Posted August 7, 2014 That failure mode is very common on the second gens, why they would no have sealed that switch I have no idea. Mine was the same when I first went to use the PTT switch after having the bike for maybe 4 years, now that I use it on a semi-regular basis , it seems to be holding its own and continues to work.
