Peder_y2k Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Posted August 4, 2014 1st Gen top cover (white) produces glare right at eye level at the top 1" of the inside of the w/s.. It's the frontmost area of the top cover that produces the light... some 2 inches of the surface. I could paint the area with flat black........but maybe there are other ideas how to eliminate this glare. Can't block the light with my hand for very long........maybe velcro and old sock .....etc. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
videoarizona Posted August 5, 2014 #2 Posted August 5, 2014 That happened to me...I put some dulling spray on the area of the cover that is reflecting the sun. I did that on my 650 when I had it. But I'm in the film/video production business, so had some handy. Hmmm trying to think what you could use that would be similar...try hairspray. Don't think it will hurt the plastic, but try it on a corner first. Once you get the most dulling you can, then you can see the pattern area that you need to cover more permanently if neccessary. Hair spray should just wash off with soap and water. You could use black pinstripe type tape to cover as well.....but that would be permanent. david

Add braided leather trim and a couple of silver conchos. I can see her now, wearing a top with no bottom. She would be hot-t-t but not reflective.
djh3 Posted August 5, 2014 #5 Posted August 5, 2014 I will have to say someone beat me to it. the plasti-dip stuf is pretty cool. On the second gen you get a problem with the gas cap shining back in the windshield. So I painted the top of the cap with some black and it matches the rubber that goes around the tank pretty well. Oh yea and it comes in different colors also. So if you like the white, you could still stay with that, just a less shiny one.
Condor Posted August 5, 2014 #6 Posted August 5, 2014 You all are to going too slow.... :moped:The closer you approach the speed of light, glare doesn't become an issue
saddlebum Posted August 5, 2014 #7 Posted August 5, 2014 Computer stores often carry an anti-glare plastic laminate that you can apply similar to what you can put on your GPS or cell-phones.
dna9656 Posted August 6, 2014 #8 Posted August 6, 2014 In the scale model world there is a matte or flat clear that is used to make glossy paints flatter, it gives a uniform matte appearance to things. Dull Coat I think is the name.
