Money Venture Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Posted August 4, 2014 Well, my Son-in-Law got us a pair of Sena 20S headsets this past weekend. We both decided after two days of using them that they get an "excellent" vote. They sync to the phone in 1-2 seconds. The sound quality is great. It sounds like he is right next to me. He was whispering into his mic and I could hear him fine. I detected no wind noise on most of the two rides. One spot I did hear some background for a couple of minutes. The music plays great thru them also. We both had our own music playing and we were talking the whole time we rode. We really enjoyed them as it made it more fun to talk as we rode. Phone quality was also reported great from my Son who we talked to on a conference call while riding. I was apprehensive about getting them but they surpassed my expectations. I need to read the book to get up to date on what buttons control what. We do have a lot of fun with them. Just passing the review along. Your mileage may vary. Doug
Bob Myers Posted August 4, 2014 #2 Posted August 4, 2014 Sure wish I had waited until the 20 was actually being shipped. I have the SMH10, and for a single use they work great, don't try two functions at once because they won't do it
Money Venture Posted August 5, 2014 Author #3 Posted August 5, 2014 I didn't realize the 10 didn't do multi-function. I almost bought those, but he insisted these were the way to go. We are very happy with them. OF course the wallet hurts a bit.
Bob Myers Posted August 5, 2014 #4 Posted August 5, 2014 It will multi function, if one of the functions is telephone and the other mp3 jack input. Turn on another intercom and all that stuff quits.
chag67 Posted August 5, 2014 #5 Posted August 5, 2014 So the 20 allows you to talk to your other rider and listen to music at the same time? My Sena 10 only allows one or the other. Can you each listen to different music (synced to different phones/iPods)?
chag67 Posted August 5, 2014 #6 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) Are they Bluetooth? Nevermind. I saw where they are Bluetooth. Still would like to know about the dual function. Plus if they will pair well with the 10's. Don't want to scrap those. Edited August 5, 2014 by chag67 looked up on the web
Money Venture Posted August 6, 2014 Author #7 Posted August 6, 2014 Yes, we had them bluetoothed to our phones and were playing music from each phone to a headset. We could talk while the music played. I also had GPS running in the background and she would tell me when to turn. We conferenced a phone call between the two of us and my Son on a landline. I was going to get the 10 but never saw it in person. The other responses make me glad he got these instead. The headsets have an antenna you can put up to help with distance. It is rated at 1.2 miles but I think that is on a clear day with nothing around. It is very much line of sight.
