hell yea Posted August 4, 2014 #1 Posted August 4, 2014 ok so asied from the size of the carbs whats the difference between the 96 engine and the later ones ? are the cams the same ? ect basically can i uprate the hp of a 96 easily ? aney one dun this ?
Freebird Posted August 4, 2014 #2 Posted August 4, 2014 No, you cannot do it easy. It can be done but it's NOT really easy. It requires a specially machined intake to swap to the larger carbs.

I believe the cams are different, the carbs are 28mm, as opposed to the RSV's 32mm, and the valves have single springs, as opposed to the RSV's double springs. I don't know if the intake and exhaust runners in the heads are different, or if the valves are different size.
