dacheedah Posted August 1, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 1, 2014 We missed this year, wife had surgery and then we lost a grandson. Looks like we missed out on a good time. Any locations being kicked around?
cowpuc Posted August 1, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 1, 2014 First thing to popped into my mind was Sturgis S.D.,, it has LOTS of ride opportunities, is centrally located between the U.S. and Canada.. Seriously, it is amazing out there and, it would give the folks who do/have done the Harley Rally out there a chance to do the Black Hills rides without a couple zillion other bikes in your way... Place is pretty bike friendly too:rotf: Right in the Sturgis/Rapid City area we could do a National Cemetery honor ride, there's an ICBM missile silo that can be toured, National Parks within easy driving range and on and on.. The place is amazing to see even when the "Rally" aint happening...
Freebird Posted August 1, 2014 Share #5 Posted August 1, 2014 As usual folks, it is not only about the location but also having people in the area or wiling to travel to the area to organize things. So all suggestions are welcome but remember that there has to be somebody or a group of folks who are wiling to do the work.
Freebird Posted August 1, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 1, 2014 I should also add that I think Sturgis is a good suggestion. Do we have enough people around there to pull it of though? So much to do and see there. Last time I was there was 1998 I think and wouldn't mind going back.

bongobobny Posted August 1, 2014 Share #10 Posted August 1, 2014 We would have to trailer the trike out there but it would be enjoyable to ride in that area! Been there in the cage but it would be better on the trike! Besides there is a lot we didn't see the last time! As Don said though, we need people to organize no matter where it happens next year. Sooo, people, someone step up to the plate! Another nice area is western Tennessee, or how about one of the New England states?? Central Ohio?? Pennsylvania? West Virginia? Whatever the area, there needs to be good accommodations along with camping, and lots of interesting attractions. The real key is the members who do the actual planning, that's what makes or breaks an event...
Snarley Bill Posted August 1, 2014 Share #11 Posted August 1, 2014 just going to throw this out there. how about st. charles, missouri. we have convention centers, tons of motels, historic main street right on the missouri river, many wineries, loads of riding, historic hannibal,mo., two casinos, restaurants all over, museums, national transportation museum, etc. etc. i have had 3 meet and eats here with big turnouts. star days was here last week. i may consider hosting another international if there is enough interest. i live here and could muster up enough help. i have done one of the international meets already, at the hub in ar. and it was a total success. let me know what you'all think. snarley bill
Flyinfool Posted August 1, 2014 Share #12 Posted August 1, 2014 At the last 2 Internationals, How many rooms/beds were needed and how many camp sites? Just to get an idea of the size of the facility that is needed.

slowrollwv Posted August 2, 2014 Share #25 Posted August 2, 2014 How about WV? Canaan Valley resort would be plenty big enough to handle the rally. It is close to Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob( highest point in WV), Greenbanks Observatory,Cass scenic Railroad, Smoke Hole Caverns, Black Water Falls and Seneca caverns. The resort has bungalow cabins large enough for three or four couples if you want and camping on site. Almost forgot. All the twisty's you can handle for a week.
