bongobobny Posted July 31, 2014 #1 Posted July 31, 2014 There is a venturerider, Wizard765, stranded with a charging system problem down there. He is with another couple and they are on vacation. I may have to go down there with his friend's pickup and trailer, about a 6 hr ride each way, but if there is someone in the area that can help him fix his problem that would be great! He has a new Rick's stator installed a month ago so the issue could be either the R?R or the battery. Not sure if Wayne has a voltmeter with him or not...
cecdoo Posted July 31, 2014 #3 Posted July 31, 2014 He contacted me last nite by PM, I told him I have a pickup, room to work on it, and an excellent mech in the area. He has my phone # I told him I would rent a trailer and come for him if needed. Havent heard anything today yet, he did say they had parts on the way? I dont have the skills to troubleshoot it for him. Craig
bongobobny Posted July 31, 2014 Author #4 Posted July 31, 2014 Yes, he ordered a new regulator. If you have a multimeter Wayne is smart enough to test a few things. I'm suspecting his battery more than anything but it could be his regulator especially if he put one of those cheap Chinese ones in... PS his cell number should be in his profile.
paysaw Posted August 1, 2014 #6 Posted August 1, 2014 wayne is resourceful.I hope he gets if all figured out.
bongobobny Posted August 1, 2014 Author #7 Posted August 1, 2014 Wayne email'ed me last night. He found an Amish place that specialized in starters and generators and they found the R/R to be bad. They found one and had it shipped overnight and charged up the battery and now all is well with Wayne's World...
