Mike G in SC Posted July 30, 2014 #1 Posted July 30, 2014 Just got my August Harbor Freight flier. They have the old steel jack,,, no thanks. But now they have a new model aluminum jack. Says reg price is $250, on sale for $190. With $20% coupon on flier, would be $152. http://www.harborfreight.com/retailflyer/index/product?id=60636 I bought the little sister of this, a car jack a few months ago. It looks like probably same manufacturer. Nice aluminum car jack. Happy with it. So, does anyone have this new HF MC jack. If not would someone please buy one and tell me if it is sturdy enough for a RSV. Sale and coupon are good through 8/30/14. Let me know, THANKS, Mike G. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/370x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_23588.jpg
djh3 Posted July 31, 2014 #2 Posted July 31, 2014 Says 1500 lb so should be good. It looks alot like my Sears jack. I had built a wood frame type thing originally for my 900 vulcan, then a metal rack sort of affair. when I got the RSV and got to looking at the Carbon one frame I found my pre-built one I had only needed slight modification. You will need a Carbon one adapter or build some such adapter as the actual frame is way to narrow. It wont hardly pick up on anything under the bike. If I am lifting way up like a tire change or such I use a strap around the bike and the lift to help steady it. If I'm just doing oil change I dont go that high.
XV1100SE Posted July 31, 2014 #3 Posted July 31, 2014 I have a Canadian Tire lift and the pads don't have much spare room to fit under the adapter. I've very leery about lifing the bike with it. Wish the pads were longer.
JerryT Posted July 31, 2014 #4 Posted July 31, 2014 I've looked at it before and think it looks like a good jack. Always wish I had bought one when they came out a few years ago as I think they were closer to $100 but everything has gone up. FYI, I do not believe you can use the 20% off coupon on floor jacks ( that's the way I read the fine print.)

Thanks, I got the Carbon one adapter some time ago, for a Larin jack. On the Larin, my second bottle has died but it is too shaky when the bike is up to fix again. The obvious jacks are Pitbull @$514 delivered then J&S , about $50 cheaper. But,I don't want to spend $500+ on a MC jack I will use few times, so wondering if anyone knows this model. I just have to get my bike back over to his shop for better measurements & testing. In my opinion, there is no better motorcycle jack. Only downside is the price. Once we get it finished, I will make a video with my bike up on it. I can probably get us a VR discount.

Monty, WELL guess what,,,,, I looked on Craigs List about noon and found and bought a used PITBULL !! 200 miles later and I got one. So,,, let me know when he makes the adapter. Hey, have him make two if the price is not too bad,, I'll buy one. But in the meanwhile I will try my Carbon One. It will likely fit.
Monty Posted August 3, 2014 #10 Posted August 3, 2014 Cool. Which model did you get? Dyna or Standard? Air or manual? Turntable? He is planning on making a bunch of adapters.
Mike G in SC Posted August 3, 2014 Author #11 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Cool. Which model did you get? Dyna or Standard? Air or manual? Turntable? He is planning on making a bunch of adapters. The lift does not have a model number that I see. Seller said he bought it from their show at Myrtle Beach around 2002, likely from Tony. I'd guess it is the standard (but he had a Harley Electra Glide, so?). No turntable or air lift. Do you know hot to tell the difference in models between STD and Dyna? It's been shop kept, clean and not used much and it does pump and held me. I know on my previous mc jack, the bottle was first to go,,, if they did not get used much. I got it for about half price of new, less shipping. I may jack my bikes later today,,,, don't know that I will jump on the bike in the air!!! (Giving my old jack to my son-in-law who has my old Roadstar, that weighs much less and better balanced for a lift). I'll tell you if the Carbon One adapter works with this jack. I know Larry likes to know what jack you use cause the arms are different lengths and he has an extender for some. Mike G Edited August 3, 2014 by Mike G in SC
