Not the Normal Tire Question

I remember reading tire load specs on the front and rear tires for the 84 Venture, but I cannot remember where I found them.

 

I am trying to find a dual sport tire set that will handle the load of the first Gen Venture.

In the history section of the VR.org there are specs on the different Ventures. Under tires is will show the size and load rating.

 

The load rating on the 1st Gen MKII is 65H for the front and 71H for the rear, if I remember correctly.

that is correct.

 

120/90-18 (65H) front

140/90-16 (71H) rear

 

the rear tire is the hard one to find. Apparently Ventures are not meant for off-roading.

Dual Sport ????

 

I have really missed my KLR650...hadn't thought about a Dual sport Venture...

 

1st Gen Venture...the new KLR of the dirt.

Have you seen the movie that cowpuc posted a while back with him riding through the sand on a trail.

no luck on finding dual sport tires that will fit the Venture. I will continue searching later. For now, I am going to order a set of Shinko 777s. those will last a little while.
