Was probably someone who bought a new 2nd Gen and had one of these smarty pants VR members with their old 1st Gen's (to many on here to even guess who it was) blow by em and was to busy hanging on to his bike to wave.... Nope,,, couldnt have been that,, cause that dont constitute a bullcrap story....:rotf::rotf:

Met the wrong VR member at the right time... Hmmmmmm,, bullcrap,, bull poo poo,, who deals in bull poo on here.. :confused24:

Heyyyyy,, wait a minute here,, I think I met a bunch of those Star folks not long ago.. Seemed like really nice people to me,,, hmmmm,, maybe there is something to your question there Snarley..:rotf:

there are alot of nice folks there, i'm sure. it's like the difference of night and day with our group. if your not in one of their chapters your an outsider. he actually told me a vr chapter in oklahoma disbanded and went over to their side. i said we don't have chapters, just good friends world wide. what a prick. thats when i left before things escalated. he was a wanna be anyway. :cool10:

The guy must have been living in the past, the long ago past!

There have been no 'chapters' as he called them since the break-up of the Venture Touring Society. The Venturers.org actually originated as a defacto chapter of the defunct VTS. And the VentureRider.org founder was a founding member of the Venturers. Perhaps that guy was confused? Or, like some of us who came of age in the Sixties and can't remember the Sixties, just can't remember that era or that it ever ended.

I hear confusion is a prerequisite to be in the Star organization.:confused24:

I'm a member of a Star Riding chapter and went to last years Star Days at Harrisburg, Pa. I never ran into any attitude at all among the members. You must have run into "that guy". There is one in every group. Not worth your time.

actually he was a fairly nice guy until he started putting down the venture riders. just could'nt handle that. i joined star touring in 04 with a free membership. cuz t bought a couple of new yammers. went to stardays in st. joe, mo. in 05 then found this site and been here almost from the git go. i did really enjoy the feed the children ride in st. joe. it was really heart warming, other than that i felt like an out sider. this is still the best yamaha sight there is by far. these folks are the best. weve bought people bikes when they hit hard times. donated money when folks needed help, give lots of support to st. jude, etc. most folks on here would give the shirt off their back to help others. it's hard not to go to bat for a group such as ours. don did well here. :clap2:

Now that is fact Bill! I too have been approached while traveling to join other "groups".. I always respond with, I am a member of VentureRider.org and very very happy with our "family". It just dont get no better.. Plus, until I can find a way to be in several places at once - I cant imagine being involved elsewhere..

Fortunately I havent ran into that person who talks down our family yet (knock on wood), its usually the other way around - stuff like - "oh yea, I have heard of that site and it sounds like a fun place" or "I will have to check you guys out"..

Of course,, being a Harley lover too (its in my nature - I LOVE all motorcycles and the people that ride em) and really enjoy going out to the Sturgis Rally and the like, I am careful about suggesting that those hard core Harley guys/gals think of joining us (specially while they are pointing and laughing at Tweeks).. Now, thanks to Don, I can send em to TouringHogs.com and maybe, just maybe, get a chance to see em again in a few years when we have that great big "YamaHar International Rally" :cool10: :stirthepot::backinmyday::fingers-crossed-emo
