My son quoted that to my wife many years ago and I had to have that infamous father/son talk with em.. I said "Jay (thats his name), that quote is part of the Mans Code Of Secrets and women arent suppose to know of such things.. Might wanna edit that part of your post so as to protect us fellow members whose wives read this stuff on here,, no sense causing us grief to go along with our jealousy stemming from your new bike Midnight:rotf:

XV1100SE Posted July 22, 2014 #11 Posted July 22, 2014 When she gets home tell her all the guys on the forum thought you made the best decision to bring it home with you. Really... almost the full warranty with it, low miles.... Take her for a ride on the 2010 one day and ask her what she thinks of the graphics. Next day take her for a ride on the midnight and tell her you took the flames off. Keep rotating until she clues in. Of course you'll have to make sure all the other bits match. She might notice the different chrome and shiny bits.
midnightrider1300 Posted July 23, 2014 Author #12 Posted July 23, 2014 well I broke the news to LuAnn (wife)... here's the conversation... Me : hey Hun how was your day? her : blah blah blah blah blah ( wont bore ya'll with her details) Me: well u are gonna kill me Her Why? Me:I traded Motorcycles Her : No you didn't... Me: yes I did.... Her: no you didn't... Me: yes I did ... her: WHY ... Me: Boss offered me a deal I couldn't refuse... Her: ok ... can't wait to ride it .... Gotta love that woman.....

midnightrider1300 Posted July 23, 2014 Author #18 Posted July 23, 2014 was Kinda sad at work I pulled my old bike in the show room as we were getting ready to close. In October I would have owned her for 2 yrs, in that time I've put almost 30,000 miles on her, had a lot of great memories.... But I"m looking forward to making new memories on the new bike..... and having a warranty to January of 2019 is a lot of peace of mind...
coast_of_maine Posted July 23, 2014 #19 Posted July 23, 2014 A couple of things. Good call. A man's got to do what a man's got to do. 2nd, I thought that the Venture stopped production in 2009? Did you post pixs?
MikeWa Posted July 23, 2014 #20 Posted July 23, 2014 My 08 was recently totaled by the insurance company. And I was very saddened to see her go. But the one I replaced her with is also a 2010. I was not nearly as fortunate as you and I am jealous but at least I got a year of warranty. As much as I liked the gray of the 08 I think I like the 10 better. The graphics really set it off. So while I am still recovering from my crash and I am also transferring accessories from my old bike. It is exciting and I am anxious to get back in the saddle. Ride safe and enjoy your new bike. Mike

coast_of_maine Posted July 24, 2014 #24 Posted July 24, 2014 What is the sound system like on the 2013? Did they replace the cass with CD? Did they put in BlueTooth ?
XV1100SE Posted July 24, 2014 #25 Posted July 24, 2014 What is the sound system like on the 2013? Did they replace the cass with CD? Did they put in BlueTooth ? Other than paint, seats, minor changes to mechanical (eg clutch basket is up to an ' i ')...bike hasn't changed since '99. Why mess with near perfection?
