Color01 Posted March 13, 2008 #1 Posted March 13, 2008 Does anyone know a place around 100 miles from zip code 23434 ( Virginia ) who has good tire prices and don’t charge you $125.00 - $150.00 for installing a rear tire. Because I think it is ridiculous to charge someone up to $150.00 dollars to install a rear tire on a RSV. and most of the dealers have only the Dunlop D404 in stock.
Guest Popeye Posted March 13, 2008 #2 Posted March 13, 2008 My dealer gave me a great price on new E3s & charged me $30. each to mount. I thought THAT was a bit stiff. However, they charge some huge fee if you get your tires somewhere else.
Riderduke Posted March 13, 2008 #3 Posted March 13, 2008 Herman, Call Muffinman, His dealer around E-city NC has good prices on tires and I don't think They would rip you off. I believe that E-city is closer to you then I am.
Wizard765 Posted March 13, 2008 #4 Posted March 13, 2008 I'm curious if you are taking the bike in or just the wheel in for that tire installation. I know it is much more expensive if they have to remove the wheel from the bike.

I'm taking the bike in and also purchase the tire by them...I don't have the equipment to remove the wheels by my self.

Wizard765 Posted March 13, 2008 #7 Posted March 13, 2008 At the local shop here it is $20 to install a tire if I bring him the wheel. It's around $100 if I bring him the bike.
hig4s Posted March 13, 2008 #8 Posted March 13, 2008 It is not quite that bad down here, but I figure when the time comes I will get either a lift or a center stand, take the tires off myself and take them to Cycle Gear. They will mount and balance any tires you buy from then for $20. And I checked with them this week, and the price they quoted me for Avon Venoms MT90B-16 front and 150/90-15 rear was $137 each.

Jeff Hello Jeff I'm almost sure I called the right place ..I had a girl on the phone...and she said she had only the dunlop 404 in stock and the other brands she had to order them ..and if I understand her right the labor was $130.00 I like to come to New Bern, NC.... but I'm really in need for a New tire...because I use the bike every day to get to my work. if I could get a new tire tomorrow or saturday morning early ..I will be glad to make the ride to New Bern.NC
flb_78 Posted March 14, 2008 #14 Posted March 14, 2008 holy crap!! 130-150 bux to mount a tire?!?!?! Heck, it only takes an hour, so even at 80 bux an hour that's nuts. Local Yammie dealer here is 40 mounted on the bike if you bought the tire from them.
PITBULL Posted March 14, 2008 #15 Posted March 14, 2008 The place I get my tires from doesnt charge me anything.....just as long as I buy from them. But I have been dealing with them for years and years.
Kregerdoodle Posted March 14, 2008 #16 Posted March 14, 2008 around here they wanted upwards of a $150.00 per tire to install.... so I bought my own tools and a Wheel Balancer, I have around $120.00 tied up in tools but will not have to spend that again....Got my tires from SouthWest..
