ragtop69gs Posted July 18, 2014 #2 Posted July 18, 2014 Just use a long leash and let him run alongside you. OR you could use a small pet carrier on the trunk rack.
Huggy Posted July 18, 2014 #3 Posted July 18, 2014 I have seen a number of people carry them in the trunk (lid off) in a fabric bag.

eusa1 Posted July 18, 2014 #5 Posted July 18, 2014 kuryakyn # 4199 pet palace cost about $150.00 and fits on the luggage rack and works real well. friends have one and used it for many years.
CMCOFFEY Posted July 18, 2014 #6 Posted July 18, 2014 I had a friend who used a milk crate on his luggage rack. he finished the bottom of the crate so it was more comfortable for his dog and he had the dog in a harness and just double strapped the do to the sides of the crate. He also had goggles and a leather vest for his dog.
eusa1 Posted July 18, 2014 #9 Posted July 18, 2014 Going with a leash too... that's gunna getcha few extra points!
Guest tx2sturgis Posted July 18, 2014 #10 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) how do you carry a pet Sidecar. http://www.sidecardogs.com/ http://www.sidecarpro.com/Photos-and-video-sidecar-dogs.html http://indefinitelywild.gizmodo.com/dogs-and-sidecars-a-match-made-in-motorcycle-heaven-1582768582 http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/countersteering/sidecars.aspx#axzz37qaVAjOx [ame] [/ame] Edited July 18, 2014 by tx2sturgis
bwk Posted July 18, 2014 #11 Posted July 18, 2014 I purchased the t-pet carrier for my Yorkie and he loves it (everytime i start up the bike he starts running in circles and barking) my wife and I are presently on a 1,000 ride with my RSTD and her Goldwing Motortrike... The dog gets more attention than both bikes put together, he has kept his head poked out the entire trip enjoying the wind, people wave, slow down on the interstate and take pictures, and every stop becomes a photo shoot for the dog... I highly recommend the T-pet motorcycle carrier.
Heartbeat Posted July 18, 2014 #12 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) This is what we use for our 8 lb. dog. It is similar to a front infant carrier or a reversed back pack. It is a Kyjen Outward Hound Front Carrier. The wife rides on the bike behind me and has the carrier attached to her. The dog loves it! Guest tx2sturgis Posted July 18, 2014 #13 Posted July 18, 2014 Be sure to put a pair of 'doggles' on your pet....
Yammer Dan Posted July 18, 2014 #14 Posted July 18, 2014 Just use a long leash and let him run alongside you. OR you could use a small pet carrier on the trunk rack. You better look again. He is on a 1st Gen not a 2nd Gen that the little dog could outrun!!!
rbig1 Posted July 19, 2014 Author #15 Posted July 19, 2014 saddle bag doggie is cute. but I don't drive high end bike. side car works good but don't have one. lol if I put cape on dog with leash could fly along with me. that backpack set up looks best so far. pet taxi might blow apart. thanks for laughs and ideas
Dale124 Posted July 19, 2014 #16 Posted July 19, 2014 I don't dare take my dog on the bike, she already wants to drive my truck!
Trader Posted July 19, 2014 #17 Posted July 19, 2014 We have 3 dogs. 2 are Pom crosses and they ride in the saddlebags with the lids off. (see the pics) We put blankets and pillows in there to protect from any muffler heat and so they can see out. We tie their harnesses so they can't get out. (only one tried once when stopped) The 3rd is a 3 1/2 lb yorkiepoo and she rides in a papoose on my wife's chest. Basically just a soft bag with a short leash. She sometimes climbs out of the papoose and rides on my shoulder! It's fun to watch peoples reactions!
brd7666 Posted July 19, 2014 #18 Posted July 19, 2014 I was looking at some of the photos in one of the links someone provided. One of the photos is an actual photo of Osama Bin Laden. It's an older photo of him before he grew a beard. This is really a nice find. I know the photos are supposed to be people and their pets, so I can see how the mix up could happen. This photo is actually Osama Bin Laden and his wife. Check it out. http://www.sidecarpro.com/images/Sidecar_camel_in_Sergei_Dvortsevoy_s_movie_Tulpan.jpg
