What is this wire?

I looked at my VR battery and charged it and I see this wire dangling with a coil on the end. Does anybody know what it was supposed to do/be?

Can't tell what is supposed to do, but it sure looks like one half of an inline fuse holder.

Is the end opposite of the spring connected to the battery? Or to some accessory? In other words; is the coil spring energized?

It's part of an in line fuse holder for glass fuse. Looks like the shroud is further down the wire.

 

Not a stock holder - someone added something. There is another piece which isn't in the picture and may be gone altogether.

Probably related to that aftermarket toggle switch seen in the image.

Actually, I think that must be the satellite radio antenna! Or maybe the transmitter antenna that allows the IRS/CIA/FBI/NSA to track my every move on the bike!

if it's connected to the + side ...disconnect it...otherwise you could let the magic smoke out...ZAP
