BlueSky Posted July 13, 2014 #1 Posted July 13, 2014 I looked at my VR battery and charged it and I see this wire dangling with a coil on the end. Does anybody know what it was supposed to do/be? http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e369/RR322/YamahaVenture003_zps4dda9a92.jpg
Prairiehammer Posted July 13, 2014 #2 Posted July 13, 2014 Can't tell what is supposed to do, but it sure looks like one half of an inline fuse holder. Is the end opposite of the spring connected to the battery? Or to some accessory? In other words; is the coil spring energized? A fuse holder similar to this: http://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/user/products/large/glass_holder_30-32mm_8A_1.jpg
MiCarl Posted July 13, 2014 #3 Posted July 13, 2014 It's part of an in line fuse holder for glass fuse. Looks like the shroud is further down the wire. Not a stock holder - someone added something. There is another piece which isn't in the picture and may be gone altogether.
Peder_y2k Posted July 13, 2014 #4 Posted July 13, 2014 Probably related to that aftermarket toggle switch seen in the image. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
dvuch1 Posted July 13, 2014 #5 Posted July 13, 2014 Thats for the hypendupenator.....does your VR go at warp speed?
BlueSky Posted July 14, 2014 Author #6 Posted July 14, 2014 Thats for the hypendupenator.....does your VR go at warp speed? Actually, I think that must be the satellite radio antenna! Or maybe the transmitter antenna that allows the IRS/CIA/FBI/NSA to track my every move on the bike!
bongobobny Posted July 14, 2014 #7 Posted July 14, 2014 Nah! Anybody can tell it is the end of a Zorch Strap... (any Zappa fans out there??)
dacheedah Posted July 14, 2014 #8 Posted July 14, 2014 someone used synthetic blinker fluid, I would go to a heavyweight dino to prevent future issues
jasonm. Posted July 14, 2014 #9 Posted July 14, 2014 if it's connected to the + side ...disconnect it...otherwise you could let the magic smoke out...ZAP
