Yea, this isn't bike related at all but I don't hide my excitement as most men try to do. I just be me and let my feelings show.

I have been on the phone for about 30 minutes with my son who lives in Australia, and he just told me he has to go because the taxi cab just arrived.

He and his wife will soon be boarding a plane to take a 19hr and 45min flight from Adelaide to Vancouver. They will be staying there for 3 days, then they will be taking a train down into the states to Seattle where they will spend a couple days, then fly to LA and then to Huntsville, Al.

I just cant wait to see my son again. Last time I saw him was just before my dad passed. I had him fly over so he could see his grandfather for the last time.

He and his wife will be here July 19th thru July 31st. Then they will fly to Niagara falls for two days then to Toronto for two days, back to Vancouver and then back home to Australia.

I wont be attending the international VR rally this year for I want to be with them every moment I can.

Oh, did I say I was excited... I mean, really..,:cool10::beer:

Have fun and enjoy. It's hard to be away from the little ones....even when they are not so little anymore. My daughter and granddaughter live in North Carolina and we spend all our extra time and money traveling there, or bringing them here.

My Grand Princess is only 2 1/2 and she has been to Disneyland 3 times with her 4th already scheduled for September. She has her Nana and Papa wrapped around her littlest finger... :sun:

GOOD ON YA ECK AND CONGRATS ON GETTING TO SEE YOUR KIDS AGAIN (his wife is your kid too now ya know)!! Our children and their lives are on a totally different than motorcycling,, as fun as it is,, can EVER be!! Tippy and I are on the same wave link as you are talking brother!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and hope you completely enjoy the special time you have been blessed with to be with them!! Sieze every minute with em Eck!!

You made my day reading what you wrote in this thread!

The main reason Tippy and I came home from our recent bike trip when we did was cause our youngest daughter, in her mid 20's, has been sick with some high temps.. She's an adult BUT we were both very concerned with her health.. We have friends that thought we were crazy,, Tippy wanting to come home and feed her chicken soup and all.. To us, parenting doesnt end just cause they become adults!! They are our children forever and when away from them, especially as long as you have been, YOU REALLY REALLY miss them!!!!!

Bless you folks!

Man, that's great eck. I kinda know how you feel, our oldest son is coming up from Florida Sept 1st to spend a week with us. He called about a month ago and asked if we'd like a surprise, and that was it! It's been 2 years since we saw him, even though we talk 3 or 4 times a week. It's really easy for time to get away with everybody doing their thing, and the way time flies. And yes puc, you never stop being their parents, mine are 35 & 31 now.

I am so happy for you Eck.

I do wish you could slip out for a day or so and stop by Asheville. You know you will be too wound up at that time and need some distraction for a while. We will find somewhere to put you

Best wishes for everyone involved.

Have a good time with your offspring and devoted other, you KNOW this time will go slow till they get here then pass rather quickly! Make sure he knows that you are rather envious of all the traveling they're doing!:080402gudl_prv:

Fantastic!

I love it when I get a chance to see my kidlets. Was really hard when the oldest was in the Peace Corps and spent two years in Belize. I managed to get her home on a surprise visit when her sister graduated from HS.

So good to hear your son is coming home! Have a great time and enjoy every minute!
