CrashmanS Posted July 8, 2014 #1 Posted July 8, 2014 I have a clamp on tachometer for my multimeter. Do I have to double the reading for the proper speed? I read that it fires on every stroke instead of just compression. Is this correct for a 2006 RSTD? If this is the case I have mine set to 500 rpm instead of 1000. Thanks, Scott
XV1100SE Posted July 8, 2014 #2 Posted July 8, 2014 I bought one at Harbour Freight...and yes you have to double the value
CrashmanS Posted July 9, 2014 Author #3 Posted July 9, 2014 Never mind. Upon closer inspection this is NOT a waste spark engine. Each cylinder has it's own coil so the rpm read is actual engine speed. Thanks, Scott
