cowpuc Posted July 8, 2014 #1 Posted July 8, 2014 Tippy and I are safely home here in Michigan and I wanted to say THANK YOU to both of you, BikerJohn and Squidley for all you did.. You two are true Texas Hero's in my book!! Your kindness and thoughtfulness in helping Tippy and I out in what could have been a very bad situation will never be forgotten.. Thank you both, and your families, for sharing your homes, hearts, brains, tools, parts and even pets with us! We love you both dearly and COULD NOT have gotten to one of the most important parts of our trip, our daughters graduation, without you two! You and your wifes are a perfect examples of what makes VentureRider the "family" it is and a HUGE example of words being put to action!! I dont know how to recommend you two for some kind of "exceptional member award" here on the site but I gotta say this,, to ol Cowpuc and,, young Tippy (see how I get her to ride with me all those miles) YOU TWO ARE HERO'S FIRST CLASS! When I explained to my daughter, Cappy (her biker name earned thru many miles of riding on the back of an old Yamaha Venture with her ol Cowpuc Father), what had happened and how we never would have gotten to her graduation without you folks she wanted to thank you too.. Her and I came up with this little song for you two!! Hope ya dont find it to dorky but what the heck,, like I always say,, its a flaw in my charector - I just gotta try... Thanks again! Love ya bro's.. Puc Oh P.S. - ye both be warned that the ride report that I plan to write over the winter will,, more than likely,, have tales galore of both of you,,, ye be warned...

Guest divey Posted July 8, 2014 #10 Posted July 8, 2014 President Puc (Dad) and First Lady Tippy. The world would be a much better place with more folks like you. Hope to one day see you both head north of the 49th for an extended trip (Alaska's calling you know). Thanks for sharing your great stories and video with us. Doug
cowpuc Posted July 8, 2014 Author #11 Posted July 8, 2014 WOW thanks CowPuc that was great!! It was great meeting you and Tippy and haveing new friends forever. Cant wait to get to Michigan. So picture this you guys, a couple of a scraggly bikers from Michigan who you have never met call you and tell you they are broke down near you.. You go and see whats going on, an appoligetic scruffty smelly bug covered ol biker looks you in the eyes and says, sorry to have to disrupt your day, especially with you just having got out of work and all.. what would your response be, would ya be troubled at all? This HERO Bikerjohns 1st response was one of actual delight,, as I recall it went something like this,, ACTUALLY I AM GLAD IT BROKE, I HAVE HAD MY NAME ON THE VR HELP LIST FOR A LONG LONG TIME AND I NEVER GET TO HELP ANYONE! Funny thing was,, I could tell by the look on his face that John was serious! Actually, I gotta add that John was a little perturbed with me about one point.. He was visibly upset that I waited till he was finished with his work day to bother him and he didnt get the chance to tell his boss that his brother had an emergency and he needed to go to his assistance! LOOK IN WEBSTERS UNDER HERO AND YOU WILL READ - SEE BIKERJOHN! John, you are more than welcome my friend forever! You and that lovely wife of yours get on up here, bring the bike and a fish pole,, we'll have a ball! Bring that Squidley and lonna along,, Tip n I will sleep in the tent in the living room and you four can have the house! Miss ya'll! Puc

Doug Careful what you wish for my Dear Friend,, look what happened to BikerJohn! Doug, it was a REAL honor and pleasure meeting you and our mutal friend Dale at VentureWest this year. Tip and I really enjoyed the time you two shared with us! When,, notice I said WHEN, not if, we make our way across your great country to go explore Alaska we look forward to checking in with you! One of the reasons we made our way into Alberta while up at Glacier was to test our Michigan Enhanced Drivers Licenses to see if they actually worked as PassPorts.. Your in big trouble now Doug,, they worked perfectly! Thank you for following my crazy rants and for the kind words! Until we meet again, ride safe as you chase that gorgeous Canadian wind! Puc

SundayRider Posted July 8, 2014 #14 Posted July 8, 2014 Very cool video!! Seems like a good girl you've got there. You and your wife must have done something right. As a side note and as a fellow Michigander I'm very jealous of that trip you just took. This winter sucked and those warm desert pics you posted looked mighty inviting.
BlueSky Posted July 8, 2014 #15 Posted July 8, 2014 Thanks for allowing us to enjoy the fantastic trip with you and Tippy! You guys are doers, not talkers!!! Willie Nelson had better watch out! You'll be taking over his job!
