HELP - rear end

Just installed new tire pulled rear end and greased now it locks up when i shift into gear

 

 

WHAT DID I DO AND HOW DO I FIX IT???

If you pulled the rear end, perhaps you didn't get the drive shaft into the universal joint and now it is bound up?

I agree. Just because you got the shaft back in, does not mean you got it in the UJoint. It will slide in beside the Ujoint. I know that for a FACT.

When you think you have

the rear drive and shaft installed and before tire install or cap nuts are tight, rotate the drive by hand with bike in neutral, then click it in gear and try to rotate again, without starting bike I might add. This way you will confirm install is correct. I've noticed some members on this forum can do this project in their sleep, for me not so much the first go round!

took my 15 yr old to notice the problem but the shaft was not seated in the u joint.

 

Fixed and ready to ride.
