crowrod Posted July 3, 2014 #1 Posted July 3, 2014 Hi all, what is the easiest way to grease the linkage? is there a way to do it in place, or does it need to be removed? the bike is a 2nd gen.
djh3 Posted July 3, 2014 #2 Posted July 3, 2014 For the most part, I believe the linkage is sealed and has rubber boots on the links. I suppose you could give it a shot of spray white grease or WD40 type oil. One thing to watch from what I have been told is the pivot bolt for the shifter itself. I understand they have walked out on some.
JerryK Posted July 4, 2014 #3 Posted July 4, 2014 WD 40 makes the linkage work like new...Just hit all the joints. And yes I had a shifter bolt walk out and leave and shifter fell over on floor board! The dummy bolts in the side covers work perfect when that happens....I know! LOL
