starrider60 Posted July 2, 2014 #1 Posted July 2, 2014 CHECKED MY TIRES. 2400 MILES ON THEM AND THEY ARE GONE. METAL CORD SHOWING ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT IS SLICK ON THE OUTER TREAD(?). ANYONE ELSE WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE HAD WITH KUMHO'S?
Rick Haywood Posted July 2, 2014 #2 Posted July 2, 2014 They are not made for heavy dressers. That is all you will get from the cheaper tires.
Kirby Posted July 2, 2014 #3 Posted July 2, 2014 I had one on the back of BigGal when I tried to go to the Darkside but took it off because the bike acted squirrelly. The tire still looked brand new. Many that use them on the Darkside get upwards of 20,000 miles. Don't know why yours wore out so fast.
TheKid Posted July 2, 2014 #4 Posted July 2, 2014 I run a kumho power star on my darkside venture with no problems. This is the second one and got 25000+ on the last one. this one has maybe 8000 on it now.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted July 2, 2014 #5 Posted July 2, 2014 They are not made for heavy dressers. Nope...just heavy cars.
ragtop69gs Posted July 2, 2014 #6 Posted July 2, 2014 Sounds like you were running too low a pressure and wore the outer edges. What kit do you have on the bike ? Hannigan ?
leo3wheel Posted July 4, 2014 #7 Posted July 4, 2014 The Kumho rear tires on our trike have 28,000 miles and look great.
MikeWa Posted July 4, 2014 #8 Posted July 4, 2014 Lots of questions. Are the tires fully seated? What is the tire width? Stock rim or rim width? What was the air pressure? Which model Kumho? How were the tires balanced? How are the wheel bearings? This amount of tire wear is so unusual it makes me think some basic item was somehow missed. Especially if no symptoms were noticed while riding the bike. Then of course there is always the very remote chance this one tire had a defective rubber compound. Mike

My mistake Forgive me I was thinking Shinko I will go to my corner I should mind my own business I should never reply to a tire thread :crying::95:
