Ed S, SE Nebr Posted July 2, 2014 #1 Posted July 2, 2014 I need to buy a cylinder hone to use when rebuilding the clutch MC. Probably should plan to do brakes, too, at some point. How small does it need to go? I saw a reference to 5/8" in another post. I recall the MCs on my KZ 750 being somewhere around that size, maybe smaller. Thanks eds
Flyinfool Posted July 2, 2014 #2 Posted July 2, 2014 I know that the front brake master on an 88 is 14mm bore. The earlier years (I am not sure what years) is 1/2 inch. I do not know what size the clutch master is. On the brake master the bore size is cast into the side of the housing as either 1/2 or 14mm. Check your clutch master to see if it is marked.

This helps. I'm at work, half an hour from home, and was hoping to pick one up today. We're not working tomorrow and if I can save a trip into town... eds

bongobobny Posted July 2, 2014 #6 Posted July 2, 2014 I use a 2 stone hone with the range of around 7/16" to 11/16" and unless the bore is REALLY corroded and pitted it works fine...
