Carbon_One Posted June 29, 2014 #1 Posted June 29, 2014 A couple recent posts reminded me of a preventive measure I took when I had the trunk off the trike while adding my auxiliary tank. When I repositioned the trunk on the trike I made a base out of 1/8" aluminum. I did this for two reasons. One was I not only moved the trunk back a bit but also changed the angle slightly per Joyce's request. Having done that the trunks bottom wouldn't be sitting flush on the luggage rack and would of only been supported in a small area. Two was there had been reports , one recently in fact, of the trunk bottoms cracking for either becoming loose or flexing on rough roads or overloading or a combination of all these. My trunk was in excellent shape but did this just the same to keep from future problems. At the time I added this sheet of aluminum Jay and I added one to Jeanie's trike as well. I can't recall for sure just now if hers had cracks on the bottom of the trunk but we added one just to be safe. Larry
