hell yea Posted June 26, 2014 #1 Posted June 26, 2014 finally pulled the trigger on a new set of diaphragms and sliders from Yamaha for my 83 now do i need to replace the springs ? our will the originals work ok with the new uprated diafram from Yamaha ? does any one know
Huggy Posted June 27, 2014 #2 Posted June 27, 2014 I have never had to change the spring and have never heard of anyone having to replace the springs. Just don't stretch them!!!!
Peder_y2k Posted June 27, 2014 #3 Posted June 27, 2014 Just measure the springs side by side and they should all be right about the same length. If within an inch of each other, they are OK. If not, consider replacing the shortest. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
hell yea Posted June 27, 2014 Author #4 Posted June 27, 2014 reading the service bulletins it seas the 83 had lighter slides and when replacing one you should replace the spring as well. but im hoping that replacing all 4 i may be abell to get away with using the original springs will let you all know how it goes failing that has anybody got the part number for the later spring 84 on
Prairiehammer Posted June 27, 2014 #5 Posted June 27, 2014 According to my go to source: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-26H-14933-00-00.html 1983 Spring: 26H-14933-00-00 1984 Spring: 41R-14933-00-00 But the same source says the 41R is used in the 1983. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-41R-14933-00-00.html
