midnightrider1300 Posted June 25, 2014 #1 Posted June 25, 2014 passing lamps has stopped working and it's really time to replace the lights. Does anyone have an economical solution to go with LED or HID or just replace the bulbs with brighter silverstar bulbs? I value yo your opinions....oh I don't want to spend over $150.00 lol hey I'm cheap...
XV1100SE Posted June 25, 2014 #2 Posted June 25, 2014 In my passing lights I run GE H7616 bulbs. Brightest bulbs I've seen and brighter than my Silverstar head light
djh3 Posted June 25, 2014 #3 Posted June 25, 2014 I prefer the term frugal. I dont want to break the bank either. LED wise about the only ones I have seen that are somewhat brite are the northern tool ones guys have used. They run in the $40 range. I personally have just a couple of LED H3 replacement bulbs in mine right now. I can tell you they are not very bright, my halogens were better light wise. Dont know if the CREE jobs will fit in the housing either, but dont think so.

slowrollwv Posted June 25, 2014 #6 Posted June 25, 2014 I have the LED truck lights in mine and they are as bright as the HID headlight. I am very pleased with them. I think they were about $79.00 from Kury though.
Wade 2000 Posted June 26, 2014 #8 Posted June 26, 2014 I just upgraded to these. Nice match to my HID headlight
YamaDuck Posted June 26, 2014 #9 Posted June 26, 2014 I've got the Northern Tool LED's for $40 each and I am very pleased. You need to do a little jimmying to get them to fit into you buckets but they work. I think there is a post somewhere on here about them.
djh3 Posted June 26, 2014 #10 Posted June 26, 2014 Was board after lunch. So I went shopping. Here might be something that is reasonable compaired to the $80+ trucklite jobs. Least expensive ones are $52
