craigatcsi Posted June 24, 2014 #1 Posted June 24, 2014 For those of you that have ever thought of trying a Trike or looked down on them, you may want to rethink. I wasn't thrilled about having to switch to a Trike to keep riding, but the more we ride the more I love it! I am even beginning to Prefer it!! I no longer have to dread stop lights & /or going slow, turning around or stopping for any reason. PLUS, on top of that, after this past weekend, we have now discovered roads that I would never considered taking any two-wheeler on that wasn't meant for off road!! We are now exploring white rock, gravel and dirt roads through the Bluffs that we always either ignored or simply glanced at - wondering where they went! I worried about high speed stability. And though I have only had it up to 85mph so far, it is just as stable as any 2-wheeler I have been on. But, I do realize that there are many different Trike kits out there. - (Mine is a Hannigan). As I had read on online Forums and previously had other Trike owners tell me, I wish I had done it MANY years ago!! We would've put many more miles on our Bike by now! craigr
Carbon_One Posted June 24, 2014 #2 Posted June 24, 2014 Yep right on all accounts. Glad to hear you & your Mrs. are enjoying the ride even more now. Larry

Cougar Posted June 24, 2014 #5 Posted June 24, 2014 Think about adding a front flap for the front fender soon. (rad protection) You didn't add how the wife can wiggle all she wants now while riding. still have that huge grin?

slowrollwv Posted June 24, 2014 #7 Posted June 24, 2014 I have been thinking when it is time to go that way I would. Our local bike shop had demo from California Sidecar over the weekend, so I got off work early Friday and went over to try them out. First time on a trike and I was suprised at how well they handle. I tried a HD, a Victory, a Kawasaki and a Goldwing, and a Yamaha Strat. I liked the Goldwing the best. I will trike mine before I pay $30,000 for one.
Woody Posted June 24, 2014 #8 Posted June 24, 2014 2nd all that, the more I ride mine the better I like it.
starrider60 Posted June 24, 2014 #9 Posted June 24, 2014 AMEN ON THE MUDFLAP. KNOCKED A HOLE IN MINE & BURNED DOWN THE ENGINE. REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND MOTOR. MANY $$ BUT I'M ON THE ROAD AGAIN.

starrider60 Posted June 24, 2014 #11 Posted June 24, 2014 Drag Specialties is the brand. JP Cycles is the place. Or just about any cycle parts house.

ragtop69gs Posted June 25, 2014 #13 Posted June 25, 2014 Where is a good place to get a nice mudflap? Ace High leather, Nancy is a forum sponsor/vendor and does real nice work.
Carbon_One Posted June 25, 2014 #14 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Here's what I have on the trike. http://www.leatherconnexion.com/-Mud-Flap-Small-Bulb-Style-P1002C234.aspx Mine has red piping to match the bikes red. I had these on the 05 as well & really like them. Had a custom made set for the rear of the TRI-WING 05 but not needed on the rear of the Hannigan. Larry The inner section is a thick rubber with the leather on the outside. Very durable and easy cleaning. with whatever you choose but do get one for the front. starrider60 Posted June 25, 2014 #15 Posted June 25, 2014 i got the new(er) engine from pinwall. They had a video of it being dyno'ed in the the salvage bike. Showed good numbers. Fast shipping. Good to be riding again. I was not aware how much my peace of mind is helped by the open road.
Yammer Dan Posted June 25, 2014 #16 Posted June 25, 2014 Site with Hannigan prices?? All I come up with is add-ons.
Aussie Annie Posted June 26, 2014 #17 Posted June 26, 2014 Love my H-D Trike, with Motor Trike kit. Have put more miles on it than any other bike I've owned. Most of those in the States

Carbon_One Posted June 26, 2014 #20 Posted June 26, 2014 So... with all the BLING: +$13K if you install, +$16K if they do it? Strictly dealer or factory install. They don't sell to individuals doing their own installs. Sorry. Had the factory do mine and was happy with their work. Larry
craigatcsi Posted June 26, 2014 Author #21 Posted June 26, 2014 I bought everything they offer and spent real close to 19k in all. This is including The Aux Tank and skid plate from CarbonOne. There are also a couple of upgrades you can do. To me, my Trike is worth every penny!! craigr
Nemo Posted June 26, 2014 #22 Posted June 26, 2014 I just bought a mud flat on e-bay, 2 days ago. Haven't received it yet, but I'm wondering how you guys are mounting them. The front finder has a chrome piece on the back edge. Have you bolted it to that piece or gone further up and onto the fender? Owen.
