speakerfritz Posted June 20, 2014 #1 Posted June 20, 2014 Trying to put together a list of tools for second generation RSV. so far, I've done an oil change, installed a center stand, installed the billet chrome intake covers, lowering kit with capilar relocation, removed my seat and the tool kit in the right saddle bag was useless. looking at the below is helpful since the nut/bolt/hex sizes are listed. Anyone seen an actual list of tools needed for operator and modificator maintenance? different from the "what I carry" questions. Thanks. etcswjoe Posted June 20, 2014 #2 Posted June 20, 2014 add 8&10 mm to your list 10mm is the one I use the most.
speakerfritz Posted June 20, 2014 Author #3 Posted June 20, 2014 add 8&10 mm to your list 10mm is the one I use the most. yes...I'm recalling that size is on the air filter cover and maybe on the brake banjo bolt or the rear capilar mount bolt. The airbox hose clamp is a number 2 philips as are 2 air filter retaining screws and the 5 airbox clamshell screws.
djh3 Posted June 20, 2014 #4 Posted June 20, 2014 Too many to list for me. You need a 5mm allen to remove the side covers, saddlebags. 3mm allen for the fairing screws and remove the windshield. 6mm long ball allen works for me for the driving light bar to get the front fairing off. 5mm also to remove the gas tank.
playboy Posted June 21, 2014 #5 Posted June 21, 2014 Just FYI the right pivot bolt on the swing arm is only 5.1 ft lbs not 51 ft lbs. A set of t handle metric allen wrenches ball end if you can afford the good ones and not the ones with the extra wrench in the side of the handle to scratch paint.
