keithert Posted June 18, 2014 #1 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) On my old RSV I had a set of pegs similiar to the first ones below. They worked perfectly. But they had a slightly smaller mounting surface than these ones. I'm concerned these ones may not fit well between the lowers and the bar. How well do the second type fit on the crash bars? Does the bolt get in the way of the lowers? I like the way the ones I had worked and would like to go with them again if they will fit. I do not want a set of Kuryakyns due to high cost when a cheaper alternative will work well. BratmanXj Posted June 18, 2014 #2 Posted June 18, 2014 I purchased some inexpensive Drag Specialties 1" Frame Clamps, they can be had on ebay for under $10 each. Then scour ebay or craigslist for someone selling a used set of kuryakyn or HD pegs that will bolt right into the frame clamps on the bars. I got a set of ISO-Pegs for $20 used on ebay; $40 total price installed.
djh3 Posted June 18, 2014 #3 Posted June 18, 2014 I would suspect the first ones you have listed will hit the fiberglass lowers. I searched e-bay and watched for some Kuryakn offset highway pegs. they allow you to adjust them quite a bit to your legs. Mine were new in package but opened someone didnt like them or something. I gave about $60 or so for them. http://www.kuryakyn.com/images/item/Large/7993-6.jpg.ashx?width=576&scale=canvas
samklr650 Posted June 19, 2014 #4 Posted June 19, 2014 My bike came with type 2 already installed. I didn't think I would like them, but they work really well. Usually, I put my heel on the floor boards with my toes on the highway pegs and for my height 5'10" it works great great. I did a 1552 mile trip in two days and those pegs came in handy.
