Plans are coming together for Sturgis 2014! I will be camping at Glencoe Campground.

Anyone else going?

If so, we might be able to arrange a meet-n-eat at Sturgis Brown High School for breakfast sometime in midweek as we have in the past.

This year, I will not be taking the Venture....I will be on the Ural.

Wont be hard to spot....its green and has a sidecar!

I'll be there AGAIN. Staying at the Iron Horse....AGAIN. I think I still have your phone number stored in my phone. It was fun getting together the last time at the school. Works much better than trying to meet at the Ted Nugent concert. Those spur of the moment deals dont work so well sometimes. Looking back on it, I was just going to holler out your name because it was so quiet there at the full throttle. The only reason I didnt was because Ted was on a roll with one of his rants and I didnt want to interrupt.......It was the polite thing to do......

Lol....Yep.

You know....Ted gave me a call and expressed his apologies for the noise and the crowds.

The call went to voice mail.

I never returned it.

I or should I say we will be in Rapid city. I made the ride to Sturgis 27 years in a row and and when our kids got old enough they rode with me and loved it and it created great memories. My son loved the area so much he moved to Rapid after collage. The wiffle and I wanted to ride to Sturgis again this year. But it cuts into time with the grand kids so we are flying and renting a car.

I do want to meet up with tx2sturgis and any of the other VENTURERIDERS who want to get together.

I'll be there. 3rd year in a row for me. Stayed at Creekside Campground last year and will probably stay there this year as well. Would like to meet up with you guys.

Things on my list are a done deal. We will be in Sturgis for bike week.Just need to know where the Meet,Eat,Greet is being held at and time. I love it when a plan starts to come together. Truly looking forward to meeting up with VENTURERIDERS I have not met yet.

And some I have not seen sense the International rally in 07.

Some of us have had a meet-n-greet at the Sturgis Brown High School for breakfast during mid-week of the rally. Breakfast seems to be the best time to get together, as most folks tend to have plans for the day and evening.

Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday are fine for me. We normally get the table that is the first table on your right as you walk in to the cafeteria. The serving line forms to your left as you walk in. If I remember correctly, the breakfast is about $8.00. (it may be more than that now)

Also, we usually get to visit with the school Head Administrative Assistant, Pam Gies, for a few minutes....she likes to tell us, when asked, how they got the school mascot name: 'The Scoopers'....its always an enjoyable visit.

For those who dont know where the school is located, its about a mile WEST of the huge Full throttle Saloon out on east hiway 34 (also labled SD79). When heading east out of Sturgis on 34, towards Full Throttle, Buffalo Chip, and Glencoe, look for it on the LEFT. If you miss it, turn around in the Kickstart Travel Center lot and go back towards town. (Avoid U-Turns!) It will of course, now be on your RIGHT.

Hello Brian: Please keep us posted on your Sturgis trip itinerary. I encourage everyone that makes the trip to try the meet and great breakfast. We met Brian, BJ66 and others a couple of years ago. Great time.

Hello Everyone: Usually very hard to locate one another due to the crowds. The breakfast meets at the High School are an easy way to meet. We cannot come early this year. As of now riding up after work on Friday August 8th. Staying in Custer Friday and Saturday night. No set plans other than enjoy ourselves. Enjoy friends.

Hey TX, always a chance Tip and I may head back out too.

The address for our campground (Puc's Peace On The Prairie) is, 20574 Gravel Rd Sturgis, SD 57785-6626. If you, or others, plug that into mapquest you will see a gravel road (appropriately named Gravel Road) cutting off 34 just past the Buffalo Chip heading away from Sturgis - I think that would be east.. The gravel road forms a perfect Y off 34, no idea why an address came up when I mapquested - there are NO buildings, its open prairie. I usually follow that gravel road to the fence line that runs across the prairie to the right.. I always camp close to the fence cause its the quietest spot, there are horses on the other side of the fence, you can see the stars and still able to watch the bikes go by all night...

Been camping that spot for many many years and never a problem - knock on wood.. Still dont have running water, bathrooms, a bar, any food joints, cant have a fire and havent been able to get Ted or Tobie Kieth out there to play at our campground BUT,,, its free and open to anyone, anytime...

If we do make it out again this year we will try and hunt you guys down - we would LOVE to have breakfast with ya'll!! I am sure I will recognize your scoot - if you, or ANY OF OUR GUYS, happen to see ol Tweeks come cruising thru PLEASE yelp at us!!! I will have a swig of water hangin on the bike for ya if you do!!:big-grin-emoticon:

How about Wednesday, 9 AM Mountain Time, at Sturgis Brown High School...be there a few minutes early and gather in the lobby or at the front entrance outside...or if arriving late we will try to sit at a table to the far right as you walk in the cafeteria.

Will this work for everyone? I see that Phoneman wont be there yet but maybe he can arrange a meeting time and place. I will be rolling out of Sturgis by Friday evening I think.

Sure enough, google maps found it.

Its funny how your 'secluded spot' and my 'not quite as secluded spot' are within a mile or so of each other....If you make it out there try to be at the HS for breakfast!

Hopefully we will meet up somewhere....I will not be camping in my normal spot this year....doing things a bit different. If you see a green Ural roaming around the town or the campground, its probably me.

We arrived last night about dark. First late afternoon early evening trip. Beautiful!! Amazing day of riding. Johnson Siding for breakfast. Memo Road to Vanocker Canyon to Sturgis. Rode in rain on the way back to Custer. Later cleared. Sunny evening. Great meal. Ice cream at Purple Pie Place this evening. Spotted a 2009 RSV from Nova Scotia parked at Cattleman's restaurant as we were headed back to our motel. Great day!!!
