are grandkids any different in california than anywhere else?

Nope :rotf:

Theres a significant routine that I am finding myself in these days in dealing with my oldest grandson.. it goes something like this,, gramps is coming I better get busy and break something on my dirtbike so he and I can fix it, gramps shows up, fixes the bike, tells the grandson he wants to see em ride it now, grandson shakes his head no and informs gramps that he forgot to inform gramps that the back brake,, she no work.. gramps smiles and says I bet we dan fix it. With gramps bike lift back in michigan being to heavy to carry on his motorcycle all the way to california, a method for lifting the bike up for repairs must be found..

gramps suggests we hang the little feller,, the bike not the kid ya bunch of copperheads,, from a tree. the california relatives get some more needed insight into how this old man thinks,,, the nut house draws closer..

gramps finds out in short order that california clay drys hard as a rock, like some of the midwest clay he remembers from his harescramblin days of years ago. Gramps smiles as he digs the impacted clay out from the wheel, removes it and begins digging the stuff from around the INTERNAL brake assembly! Once again, ol puc, the grampa in this case, smiles as he remembers how many times he had to go thru this exact same scenario on his 69 250 enduro and also on his brand new 1973 honda 250 elsinore after a long day of racing many years ago... only difference was, gramps was smart enough to not let the stuff harden like steel before he tried to remove it... the grandson taps his grandpa on the shoulder and asks what he is thinking about..

gramps looks at his grandson and says,, I was thinking how much I wish I would have had a grandpa that would fix my bike with me like you do Deadeye (thats my nickname for him).

Now nock some more of that clay off that swingarm will ya.......

Puc,

The main difference between your grandson in California and mine in Arkansas is; yours says "you guys" while mine says "y'all".

Everything else is pretty much the same. Lol.
