OK, the job is actually done, and it works. I have an "E4" controller and a working compressor up for grabs if anyone needs.

My cheap way out was to drill the fittings that I removed from the compressor. I then tapped the new larger hole and installed a pipe plug in one side and a tank valve in the other side of the fitting. There is not a lot of material to work with (depth wise) so I used JB Qwik as pipe thread compound when I put the fittings in. I put the front valve is under the "tank cover" and is readily available via the gas door. The rear is wire tied to the frame behind the rear passenger foot board.

I had the drill,JB Qwik, and tap so the entire fix was under $10. :mo money:

Back in 98 my 83 had the class overridden. They put valves on the hoses and sealed them with wire wrapped around the fitting.
