psycorob Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Posted June 15, 2014 Getting flustered this morning. Got a few things I'm wanting to do to the bike this this weekend and I'm having a heck of a time getting the bike up on the jack. I'm using a Craftsman pro mc jack but I'm not seeing anywhere on the bottom of the bike where I can get a solid contact between the bike and both arms on the jack. On my RSTD I was able to lift it with both arms braced against the frame of the bike but I'm not seeing that as an option on the RSV. Can someone chime in and give me some pointers before I end up dropping this beast?
CATPower Posted June 15, 2014 #2 Posted June 15, 2014 This what I use works great http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOOK-YAMAHA-VENTURE-ROYALSTAR-JACK-LIFT-ADAPTER-1-BEST-ITEM-FOR-M-C-/261279745845?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd57c8735&vxp=mtr
M61A1MECH Posted June 15, 2014 #3 Posted June 15, 2014 Carbon one here on the forum, see member vendors, makes a very nice adapter for the Venture. I am not sure why the Tour DeLuxe would be different from the Venture, the frames are the same, the balance will be a bit different because of the trunk andthe fairing. What I did before I got my Carbon one adapter was to make some 1.5" thick wooden blocks that I put betwen the jack and the frame to get the contact points I wanted, the one on the left front had to be notched out to fit around the kickstand switch, lots of folks are using hockey pucks, but those are not very common here in the deep south. hope this helps.
djh3 Posted June 15, 2014 #4 Posted June 15, 2014 I built one for the RSV. But for mu Vulcan I did much as Steve has said. I used some 2x4 cut down to make contact with frame. It will probably get you buy, but you need to look for a little more stable solution if your going to do tire changes etc.
ragtop69gs Posted June 15, 2014 #5 Posted June 15, 2014 +1 on the Carbon One lift adapter. Makes lifting the RSV easy & safe.
bill4you502 Posted June 15, 2014 #6 Posted June 15, 2014 Got my lift adapter and free standing legs from Carbon1 on Wed. Works great!! Had to bend the rod a little to get through the holes, but, after that was as solid as the preverbal rock!!!.........
BG Hawks Posted June 15, 2014 #7 Posted June 15, 2014 Reach out to Carbon One. Jack it up, install the legs and remove jack. No issues what so ever.
EasyRider Posted June 15, 2014 #8 Posted June 15, 2014 After 8 years without now have the Carbon One adaptler and thrilled to say the least !!! Only issue need to tilt bike up a little to get jack under kick stand side so I just put shim under kickstand.
stickhandle2 Posted June 15, 2014 #9 Posted June 15, 2014 Second, third and fourth on the Carbon One adapter, works like a dream, just used mine today to check the steering head bearings. Great investment for the RSV. Mike
