Sylvester Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Posted June 15, 2014 I am looking forward to my children, granddaughter, wife and many friends coming today. I have been up since 3:30 prepping and smoking a 17lb. brisket (my specialty) of course it is Texas style. All you "fathers" relax and enjoy your day, because tomorrow begins 364 days of work and sacrifice for your family.
Flyinfool Posted June 15, 2014 #2 Posted June 15, 2014 I will be in charge of the grill at my fathers house today. All 5 kids in the family will be there. Unfortunately, I doubt if I will even get a phone call from any of my 3 kids.
5 Buck Kanuck Posted June 15, 2014 #3 Posted June 15, 2014 Happy Father's Day to all the Venture Rider's in Canada and the U.S.A:301:
Ben Rollins Posted June 15, 2014 #4 Posted June 15, 2014 Unfortunately, I doubt if I will even get a phone call from any of my 3 kids. Sorry about that Jeff. I wish I still had my father to call. Happy Fathers day my friend.
cowpuc Posted June 15, 2014 #5 Posted June 15, 2014 Yea,,, a day for us dads to get it all in perspective,, there things in life that are totally separate page of importance than even bikes.. what a privelage to have children to brighten our days.. Jeff, sorry to hear about the lack of contact with your 3. Cant be fun.. maybe take the bull by the horns and try to contact them just to say hi.. tough stuff but I guess thats why we have a special day for us dads,, being one is not an easy task... puc
Stache Posted June 15, 2014 #6 Posted June 15, 2014 I will be in charge of the grill at my fathers house today. All 5 kids in the family will be there. Unfortunately, I doubt if I will even get a phone call from any of my 3 kids. Call them. My eldest, the only one moved out, called this morning. Surprised the socks off me. My other three I will see when I get home from work. The neat thing about telephones is that calls can go in both directions.
Huggy Posted June 15, 2014 #7 Posted June 15, 2014 Got an email from my youngest, in Romania, he's helping some USAF boys setup a fuel farm for there aircraft.
Venturous Randy Posted June 15, 2014 #8 Posted June 15, 2014 I had a great Father's Day. My son came over and after tinkering with his 86 Venture that appeared to have a dead cylinder and after he changed a plug and the cap, he and my grandson on his 83 Venture took me to lunch. After a great lunch, we took a local ride through some forested back roads. Even though it wasn't a real long ride, it was good. I feel real lucky to have a great relationship with my son and grandson. RandyA
